Our economy, the environment, and COVID-19

We have to start treating climate change like how we treat COVID-19. Both are a risk to our lives, yet we ignore the severity of the former.

As mentioned in the video, our attempt to 'flatten the curve' has improved air quality and caused nature to come back. However, once the pandemic ends, we will most likely begin to sacrifice our environment again in order to save our dying economy. This would mean more pollution in our air, water and lands. You see, there is a link between our economy and the health of our environment.

“The environment and the economy are really both two sides of the same coin. If we cannot sustain the environment, we cannot sustain ourselves.” - Wangari Maathai

It's time to make the structural changes needed for a more sustainable future.
